The American pros learned a valuable lesson in Macau: These opponents are extremely dangerous and not to be underestimated. Despite having the edge in skill, the Americans can't compete in sheer bankroll.
Armed with unlimited rebuys and a true gambling attitude these businessmen can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time, and they're going to use that to put serious pressure on the pros.
Right now they're playing $500/$1,000 with a $100 ante and a minimum buy-in of $100,000. Already we've seen a few big hands and a few rebuys. If things continue like they have so far we might be in for some $1,000,000+ pots before this is over.
The game's being filmed as part of the Aussie Millions so you'll get a chance to see all the big pots live sometime soon. The cool thing about this televised cash game is that it's not an all name-pro roster. This is a backroom high-stakes game that, luckily for us, is playing out in front of the cameras.
We've got photos of the players below. The first three show the three players from Macau. From right to left we have Wang Qiang, Paul Phua and Richard Yong.
We've got an operative keeping an eye on things up there but we're pretty much going to disappointed with anything less than a seven-figure pot.
Keep an eye on our poker news section later on to see the results.
