You might polarize your hand; Will Kassouf polarizes the poker community.

The English attorney drove a number of players mad with his "speech play" during the 2016 WSOP Main Event and became something akin to a pop star on ESPN.

But not only his game was spectacular. He also went out with a bang. And then history repeated itself.

First, the Explosion

Kassouf had his good run intact on Day 7 of the WSOP Main Event and it really looked like he could go all the way to the November Nine.

Then the tides turned. Instead of riding “nine high like a boss,” things went south.

First he took a terrible beat with a set of aces against Gordon Vayo’s A-J flush. That cost him a lot of chips. Then he ran into the ultimate cooler.

His opponent Griffin Benger was already such a nervous wreck at that point he forgot about any form of poker etiquette and became very personal. The result was explosive:

Then History Repeats Itself

Kassouf isn’t a newbie in poker tournaments. As far back as 2009 he final tabled the Irish Open in Dublin.

He’s now used his newly gained bankroll and popularity to take part in a couple of larger tournaments in Europe. Just recently he played the Main Event at EPT Malta.

He had his game on just as much as his speech play and he had already started to drive player after player insane, just like in Vegas. But that wasn’t the most remarkable analogy.

Once again he got the second-best starting hand in poker. Once again he put on a big show and once again he got coolered in the worst possible way.

Interestingly, it’s not just the hand that’s similar; watch how Kassouf’s behavior is almost exactly the same.
