If you frequent card rooms and poker games for any length of time, you'll witness a lot of bizarre situations.
What happened in the recent PLO High-Roller Cash Game at the King’s Casino is still a standout, though – a mass all-in.
The King’s Casino has become the largest card room in Europe and it offers celebrity cash games on a regular basis. Patrik Antonius, Tony G., Philipp Gruissem and Fedor Holz, among others, have been regular guests in these games.
Casino owner Leon Tsoukernik is also usually there, feared for his reckless play, but also a serious contender in NLHE and PLO. In August King’s hosted another celebrity cash game. It lasted several days and many players of international acclaim sat down to play.
It was a fun event with a lot of interesting hands -- pretty much like you would imagine any nice cash game. But then, on the very last hand of the whole event – mayhem!
In a Word? Spectacular
There’s a whole lot of straddling going on in these cash games so it’s no surprise there's almost €1,600 in the pot – at €50/€100 blinds - before any community card has hit the table.
There are seven players at the table but Mads Fournaise only manages to get rid of two of them with a raise. When Philipp Gruissem 3-bets with a nice connected hand, exactly nobody is ready to fold.
A raising war ensues and before anybody knows what’s happening, five players are all-in in a €200,000 pot. One of them is Tony G., showing once again that he doesn’t mind getting it in with a hand that cannot possibly be the best of the five.
And then there's the WSOP bracelet winner in PLO who who was the biggest loser in the whole cash game – at least until the moment you’re going to witness in the video.
