If you get your money in good in poker you’ve done everything right, right?
That’s what they say. Don't tell that to past EPT Grand Final winner Nicolas Chouity, who does just that but then has to suffer the unthinkable.
One Out? Really?
It’s WPT Cyprus 2014. Toby Lewis has just busted in 4th place and Russian players Alexander Lakhov and Dmitri Gromov are battling the Lebanon-born Chouity for the title.
All three players will definitely add $140,000 to their bankrolls but everyone has eyes on the $325,400 prize for the winner.
Gromov belongs to the genus of loose-aggressive players and he’s also a player who constantly exerts pressure on his opponents. He doesn’t like to give up on a pot.
Gromov has already shown his aggression pre-flop as he 3-bet pocket deuces. He follows up with a c-bet on a flop he can’t possibly like.
When he gets called he doesn’t slow down but decides to step it up and go for it. Check-raise on the turn!
Chouity’s hand is too good to fold, however. And when they show down he sees it’s even better than he thought.
Gromov only has one out. One single out!
